Leaves Tornado
Aluminum profiles, acrylic glass, tree leaves

2024
The artist creates an artificial vortex of leaves using an acrylic box, a ceiling fan, and
computer-controlled automation.
The work investigates the tension between apparent randomness and the fundamentally determined
processes of nature.
While atmospheric phenomena are governed by physical laws, they appear to the viewer as random
events.
The strategically placed openings in the construction allow air currents from different
directions to enter, generating a swirling motion.
The carefully preserved autumn leaves, collected and conserved by the artist over several
months, function as seasonal markers and immediately evoke associations with autumn and its
distinctive atmospheric qualities.
